New CD and A New Tour is on the Horizon !

I have been in the Recording studio at Resonate Studios with Justin McDonough who is an incredible producer, engineer and motivator ! We have about half the CD finished with the "HIT" Singles recorded. According to Justin (Producer) release is set for around spring time. Which will work out great for the tour timing. More about the tour: The tour will be in Texas to start and move across the Southern States and hopefully move up the Coast. Probably starting in Austin or San Antonio Texas in May or June. We are working on getting 2 sponsors (to be discussed later) to support the tour. Just keep checking here and more information will be released as it becomes available. I want to take the time out here to thank my fans and audience(s) that are always so supportive and incredible ! Thank You .... Straight from my heart

Guatemala, an awesome place to visit and to help !

Guatemala was awesome ! Kerri (my better half) and I went down to Guatemala to build a house for a family in need. We were building a home for 2 boys who were abandoned by their mother and father. We figured we would be going there for a life changing experience. We got the experience and more. We had the pleasure of meeting a family who just could not get over the fact that a stranger would travel such a great distance to help them and build a home ! Yet they worked just as hard if not harder then us. I thought I was working hard by carrying 3 cement blocks in a wheel barrel when the grand mother walks by me with 2 blocks on her head and one in her arms. Did I feel like a spoiled white boy ? You bet ! But she never made me feel any less. In the process of helping a family in need, we also found a great Country to explore. Surrounded by Volcanos and incredible green vegetation, Guatemala was an explore's delight. The history, the scenery, and the open hearted people who just wanted to "Get to know you" was food for all the senses. I never heard an unkind word spoken by any one the whole 17 days. Lake Atitilan with it villages of San Pedro, San Domingo, and others. The beaches at Monterico on the Pacific coast were incredible. But the true amazing places to see were Semuc Champey which even though I took photos they never seem to justify what I was seeing. It was Awesome ! beautiful pools of blue water flowing into one another. This hidden gem is a destination that is required when you go to Guatemala. Another amazing place to rest and place your attack on Guatemala is Antigua. This small hidden town has every thing the travel needs, wants and desires. Cobble stone streets, travels every where to compare notes, culture every where you turn, and history around every corner. Antigua can't be beat for a central location to plan trips, get involved in helping out, and great food too. Exchanging notes with travellers at Sky cafe is heightened by watching the incredible sunset from the roof top cafe. So even though we went to Guatemala to build a home which we did we also build friendships and a love for Guatemala that will probably keep bring me back ..... Oh ! And if you are wondering ..... Yes I performed my Country Music to 2 full house nights in Antigua and they love there music !

Awesome Success with new Single

I have to tell you it is amazing and humbling at the same time. My new single is doing incredible. It has been moved from CBC 3 to CBC 1 which is the Main CBC Music Radio station so that means National Air Play. I have to thank every one that was there helping me out. First and foremost my beautiful and loving better half, Kerri, who tolerated my silliness. Also, the people I really have to thank is Justin McDonough of Resonate Recording Studio (www.resonatemusic.ca), who has been a recording genius. He has done things with my music that I never thought could be done. Justin, his beautiful wife Megan, and Mike (business manager) have made me feel right at home in the studio. Resonate Music School and Recording Studio has a bright future with such wonderful people at the helm. I must also thank all the musicians who have come to my rescue which include; the beautiful Colleen-Rae (www.colleen-rae.com) who's vocals have been incredibly appreciated, Smokey Fennell (www.smokinsteel.com) who's Steel guitar and banjo playing was awesome, and Robin Pelletier who's Guitar and Mandolin playing was without flaw, Aaron Pritchett (www.aaron-pritchett.com) for the moral support and also my good friend Adam Gregory (www.adamgregory.com) for being incredibly supportive. And one person I really want to thank for being funny, encouraging, and extremely insightful, Chineng Pong from Edmonton. Any time I was getting down, Chineng was right on cue to pump me up again ! The one THANK YOU that I have to make sure is seen is to the fans who without them, this would all have no point what so ever ! When I asked my fans to hit the song when it was on CBC 3 they came through incredibly and I thank every one of them. Stay Posted. And if you missed what was going on here is the link to the new single WANDERING AROUND by Emo LeBlanc on CBC 1

Progress on CD and more

Well the progress on my New CD (A Long Road Travelled) is coming along well. Meeting challenges on a regular basis, mostly financially. I have been working to get bookings but my phobia of calling people is over-powering and a really wall. I have been trying to get booked into the Big Valley Jamboree. Listen to my New Single on CBC 3 Please go take a listen to the new single. I am trying to get as many as possible listeners so that I can get more air play. Hopefully, I can get someone to financially back my CD but we will have to see. On another subject, I have been cast as an extra in a movie with Bill Bob Thornton, who is a Country Artist himself. I am hoping to get some pointers from him on how to get ahead. Post your suggestions.

Live at Black's Pub in Whistler BC (Nov 30, 2011)

Had a fantastic time performing tonight in Whistler, BC at Black's Pub. The crowd was incredible there. It was a incredible venue and look forward in returning. Very talented musicians backed me up. I thank every one of them. The audience was so up beat and welcoming and they made me feel right at home. The show started a little late but that was fine by me. Johnny B (Brown) was true to form on the Harp tonight with incredible lead breaks every time I through it his way. Drew my Bass player was blowing my mind at his talented fingers and skill to boot ! Jeff on the drums was as Cool as they come. Had people up and dancing.
To top that all off, after the show, the venue told me that I was the first Country Act to play the venue. They definitely wanted to bring me back and I have to say .... I would love to come back.
We even had the staff watching and having a great time during our performance.
I want to thank Mr. Lawrence Black, owner of Black's Pub, for having tonight. I also want to thank Mr. Kostaman for setting everything else up. If you are in Whistler please stop into Black's Pub on Wednesday nights talk to Mr. Kostaman and tell him I sent you. He might even buy you a beer !

BMI or SOCAN and other PROs

Well, in the past few months I have been working with the Excellent people at BMI. I have been informed by friends that going with BMI you will make more. So after looking into things I think that I don't have anything to loose. In the past 30 years SOCAN has not pay me anything for air play or performances.
So I have decided that if BMI pays me $ 1.00 or more then I will go 100 % to BMI.

What is up Folks !

Ok, I know there has been some really good news happening but I here to stop that ! Just joking. I will be performing in Whistler on Nov. 30/ 2011. Right now the tentative location is Black's Pub. Show time is between 9pm to midnight. It will be a great time. It allows me to perform for my sister from Louisiana. Speaking of Louisiana ...... Geaux Tigers ! 10 - 0

The New CD
Production on my new CD has started and yes the production price tag was a little shocking but if I want to compete with the big boys then I have to pay the piper ! We are starting with my new Song "Hi, I'm Zac Brown" Other songs on the new CD are:

- They Said
- Cut it Loose
- God Bless America ( A Soldier's song)
- Did I do the Right thing

As more new ones come along I will keep you informed here. As for performances, well I am Whistler in Nov. and then Dec 19 I am in Calgary. Come the new year I will be headed for Myrtle Beach in March.

PLEASE DONATE !

I am hoping to solicit some donations for people to help with production cost on the new CD.
If you can afford to donate just click on the "DONATE" button. Any one who donates $ 5.00 or more I will print there name on the back of the CD. When you donate please fire me off an E-mail and tell me what song you want the donation to go to. I will list all the donors for each song. So if you wish to have your name to be the only one on the song then Donate $ 950 and it will happen. For instance, if you are a group of military guys and want to have your troop support "God Bless America, a Soldier's song" Donate that $ 950 and your group will be the only name for that song.

Canada's Got Talent .... The Waiting Game

As I have said I had a great time at the auditions for Canada's Got Talent. The Production Crew, Staff Helpers, and Producers were fantastic. Now all I have to do is wait until they get back to me. They said they would let people know on or before Sept 30th. The next round is in Calgary. Which should be a fun time. I have been practicing in order to stay on top of every thing and to stay sharp. I have to say that practicing over and over again PAID OFF big time ! When they asked me to perform on the spot, it was like turning on a switch on stage. I think that is what impressed the judge(s). I had no hesitation. He then asked me to play a Cover song, I did, "Peaceful Easy Feeling" by the Eagles.
So, After the Auditions I had a gig at Hooliganz Pub on 124 street, Edmonton. It was an Awesome night. The Manager Crystal is definitely a class act. She treated myself and my band with incredible care and respect. I got to play a lot of my new songs as well as some of my REALLY OLD ones. But that is what a show is all about. It is a Nice historic collection of my music. My next Performance (If I am in Edmonton) will be at the Festival of Trees, Edmonton, at the Shaw Convention Centre. Still working on a time. As soon as it is decided on, I will pass it on to you. I will be performing Christmas songs which will be a new area for me.

Canada Got Talent Auditions

I had a great time at Canada's Got Talent. There was a line up outside where you get to meet people. This was the place where you could meet two types of people: 1.) Your new friend or 2.) Your Competition. The funny thing about this theory is that which person you meet is your choice. I was lucky enough to meet my new friend and not my competition. A young out going man that had a great attitude. Folks meet Mr.Cameron White ! Cameron, is from Grand Prairie, Alberta and was cool to hang out with. He went to school to play College Baseball which got my respect immediately. He is currently acting in Miss Saigon in Grand Prairie. So I guess it comes down to attitude and how you approach the situation. Cameron had a great outlook on life, in that we should all have fun. And Fun we did have ! I don't want to say if I am progressing to the next round because I promised I would announcing it at my performance Sept 17/2011 at Hooliganz Pub.

Great Weekend and some action

This weekend was a fantastic weekend with my sweet heart. saturday was packed. Went and worked out at Cross fit Lazarus and as you may have heard they whipped my butt. I am still sore and it is Monday. After that we did Yoga, which was my favourite. Then we went to Bul-go-gi house, met up with our neighbour, and had some incredible food. From there we went to the Latin Festival at Churchill Square. Sunday was fill with fun also. We went to Sylvan Lake where it was great as usual but the wind was a pain in the butt. A friend was to join us but she had a flat tire on the way down. Once the spare was put on she decide to head back home which was the safest option. On our home we saw an incredible accident. From the skid marks on the highway it looked like a camping trailer was being driven a little too fast and it swerved out of control. All that was left was a trailer in 2 pieces (front wall and the roof & the floor and back wall). Hopeful the family was ok. That is a crappy way to end a weekend. When we got home my sweetie went to the last bits of the Latin Festival where some pig got fresh with her. I practice my show. That sizes the weekend up. Remember, tickets for my up coming show (Sept 17/2011) will be available at The Bell Store at Edmonton City Centre starting on Tuesday (August 16,2011).

Emo LeBlanc Country Recording Artist: Where I work out and more !

Emo LeBlanc Country Recording Artist: Where I work out and more !: "I have to apologize for ignoring my Blog here at Blogger.com. Today I got my butt kicked by two young Gentlemen that are great Fitness Trai..."

Where I work out and more !

I have to apologize for ignoring my Blog here at Blogger.com.
Today I got my butt kicked by two young Gentlemen that are great Fitness Trainers. Rich and Pete are the owners of Cross Fit Lazarus in Edmonton, Alberta and have humbled me incredibly. Today they had me beat at the warm up. But that is the only way I am going to get in shape.
I have come to the conclusion that many of the current Country Artist have incredible arms and that if I am going to compete I have to get incredible arms just like them. I know it may seem vain but let's face it, no matter what industry you are in you follow your peers lead. So if arms is what it takes, then arms it shall be. I have also started working out with yoga which is really cool. I love the fact that is makes you more flexible. Hopefully, it will help with my on stage performances. Also for those of you who are in the Edmonton Area, TICKETS  for my Sept 17 show are in and will be available at the Bell Store in Edmonton City Centre, Edmonton, Alberta starting Tuesday, August 16. They are also Available online at Online Tickets for Emo LeBlanc's Show Sept 17/2011 They are only $ 10.00. Hopefully I will see you there !  I will try to keep the blog here up to date.
