Well, it is here ! Brand New Single - DOLLARS AND CENTS which was recorded at The Tracking Room and produced by Buddy Hyatt and Co-written with Kevin Fisher. This summer was an extremely busy one. It started in May with Rainmaker Rodeo in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, Then in June, I was off to Italy where I not only met a huge amount of wonderful people along the way but also go to experience the incredible amount of history that is every where. 

I also found out that Line dancing is very popular in Italy. 

After returning from Italy I flew to Nashville to record the single DOLLARS AND CENTS.

Upon returning from Nashville I was off to New Brunswick to spend Canadian Thanksgiving with Friends and Family. I got to perform quite a bit while I was there and was well received. 

Now I am starting to work on getting booked for summer festivals throughout Canada and the USA. 

Coming up in December, I will be performing at an Edmonton Oil Kings Game between period on December 28, 2018. The Boot Scooting Boogie Dance Hall Dance Team will be joining me for the performance of my new single. I am really appreciate the Dance team coming and supporting me. 

After the Holidays, it will be time to get ready for the summer time touring for Festival Season 2019.

WHAT IS HAPPENING

Well it has been a busy time for me. From perofrming at the Rainmaker Rodeo to travelling throughout Italy.
Rainmaker Rodeo was the best ! We brought in the largest audience for an opening act since they have been doing the Rainmaker Rodeo (54 years). That was the biggest compliment I could have ever received. Opening for the James Barker Band, Dan Davidson, and River Town Saints.
From there it was off to Italy for some vacation and meeting some incredible fans. We (Kerri & me) met some incredible people.
Our travels were from Cinque Terre which was beautiful to Rome, then to Perugia to Sienia then Verona then to Florence and finally to Milan where we got to meet Claus & Federica who have a radio show in Milan call Beyond the Line.
Now that I am home from the Italy trip I am off to Nashville to record my new single "Dollars and Cents" which I will be recording at the Tracking Room, one of the Largest recording studios in Nashville.
After that I will be preparing for my mini tour to Texas in October.

What is going on ?

Well there is so much the has happened since I last posted. I have been working on a new single for the summer and went to Bali, Indonesia.
The New single I am working is named "AT THE TOP OF YOUR LIST " and I am planning on recording it at Latitude South in Nashville.
My single from A Long Road Travelled - BIG FREIGHTLINER is still going strong on radio both in Canada and USA. It has been doing incredible in the USA being added by 14,000 stations and by a lot of internet radio stations which an integral part of Indie Artist career. I am very appreciative of all the air play I have been receiving. Big Freightliner is even climbing the charts in Nashville.
As far as Live performances, I have a promo appearance on March 14 at Shakers in Edmonton at an open mic with Darren Gusnowsky, Rob Sharpio, Bill Hanson, Smokey Fennel, and Brett Hanson. I will also be appearing at North Edmonton Music Festival (date TBA) and at Festival Place Patio Series (date TBA)
Now with travel ! OMG Bali was beautiful and awesome experience. The beaches, Culture, and people were out of this World. There wasn't a place I visited that disappointed me. We got to meet Dominic Monaghan in Bali. Awesome guy. At night we would go to the beach restaurants where they had bean bags on the beach out front and watch the sunset .... Beautiful

America's Got Talent

I had a great time in Kansas City MO auditioning for America's Got Talent. It was a blast ... Met some new friends and just had a great time. Did I make it through ? You will have to watch the show.

What a year !

Well this year has been quite the year. My new CD - A Long Road Travelled which was released in the fall 2014 was picked up by RAMCO/SONY in the USA which got airplay on 14,000 stations in the USA. Then I went on a Radio tour in the summer (2015) across Canada.
In the spring of 2015 the solidification on my band happened with Brett Osborne (Bass), Wayne Pears (Drums), Smokey Fennel (Steel Guitar), and (one more TBA).
Then I released STANDING IN LINE AT CHRISTMAS TIME which is being picked by 126 stations across Canada. As the USA I know that a ton of stations will be picking it up.

Well it has been long time since I have posted because I have been extremely busy. Things that are happening with my music career are incredible. I have been invited back time and again to TMZ to be a Guest Commentator and it has been a lot of fun. Add to that, that I have been nominated for the Edmonton Music Awards in the People's Choice category and I will need your help. Canada, you will be hearing my new single BIG FREIGHTLINER real soon on Canadian Country Radio. My single releases May 11. 

THE BAND:

The band has been completed. Here are the new members of my band SOUTHERN ABBEY; Gordon Forsyth - Steel Guitar, Brett Osborne - Bass, Nicholas Strickland - Guitar, Mark Cummings - Drums. We will be hitting the road hopefully in the fall.

So Much to Say !

Oh my word there is so much to tell you. I have returned from a 14 day tour in Texas and I am still going strong ! The folks in Texas were incredible and love there music. From my Agent Keli Pearce to the Sound guys at Eagle Pro Audio. I could not have asked for more. Ok here is how it all went down. My First Gig (Oct. 12, 2014) was at Filthy McNasty's in the Stock Yards, Fort Worth Texas. Then the next morning I flew to Nashville for some time with my Mentor and good friend Bernard Porter of PCG Institute in Nashville. In the Evening I sent my time celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving at the Bridgestone Arena with W.Brett Wilson and Brett Kissel. Other that were there where Roger Millions, Kelly Hrudy, Patrica Conroy, Michelle Wright, Ryan Laird, Bob Dole (Garth Brooks manager), and many more. When I returned to Dallas/Fort Worth i performed at the White Elephant in the Stock Yards, Fort Worth and let me tell you the audience was incredible ! After the performance I was off to Lubbock Texas to perform at the Lone Star Oyster Bar on 58th. I receive incredible treatment from the staff and the audience. I had a great time with two fans sitting at the edge of the stage who were entertaining in their own right. The next night (Oct. 16) I performed at The Texas Cafe (Da Spoon) which was just as fun as the night before. Then I was off to San Angelo but on my way I stop off to visit some of the little towns along the way. It was so much fun. San Angelo was great where I opened for an up and coming artist at the Little River Club. The next night (Oct 19) I performed at Wise Guys where I was treated like a king thanks to Henry and Fabian. I also got to meet some wonderful people who were celebration there wedding. After that I decided to take some time off to go visit my family in Louisiana which was awesome. My last days in Texas were spent in a cute little town called Grapevine.

I always enjoy performing at the Edmonton International Airport because people are so friendly and have some cool travel stories ! What is up next you ask ..... Next to to start booking the Summer Festivals and the Casinos in the Area. It is going to be a lot of hard work but as Rick Barker says "A lot of people are afraid of that four letter word WORK and that is how to get ahead in the Music Business"

Naked Cyber Cafe Open Stage Jan 16, 2014

This is an update to the previous entry. Apparently, the video link has disappeared. When I asked the Naked Cafe they said they had no idea where it went which is fine ! Anyway, it was a great night performing and I look forward to doing more there. The CD is finally coming to a finished product and is sounding incredible thanks to Mr. Justin McDonough at Resonate Music Recording Studios who is taking me in a new direction which I feel that it will further my career. I have to thank all the incredible people who help me get this project done. Colleen-Rae (Vocals), who will be on the Christmas CD, Smokey Fennell (Steel Guitar & Banjo), Chris Tabbert ( Rythym Guitar, Lead Guitar, & Mandolin), Craig Bignell (Banjo), Carmen Lucia (Harmony Vocals), Gautam Karnik (Violin), Randy Rink (Lead Guitar) & Jared. I am going to be hitting the Road but there is also a Christmas CD in the making which should be interesting. I am hoping that there are going to be some donations (on a site like indiegogo) that will help speed up the recording process for the Christmas CD.

What's Happening now that the CCMA Awards are gone !

Well, the CCMA Awards have come and gone but I had a great time Kicking off the UnOfficial Kick-off party at Knoxville Bar on Jasper Ave., Edmonton. I also had the pleasure of performing with Netty Mac and her band at Fandango's in East Edmonton. Moving on from there is going back into the recording Studio with Justin at Resonate Music Recording Studio. Speaking of Resonate, I had the pleasure and honour to perform at their 1st year anniversary which was a HOOT ! New CD and A New Tour is on the Horizon !

I have been in the Recording studio at Resonate Studios with Justin McDonough who is an incredible producer, engineer and motivator ! We have about half the CD finished with the "HIT" Singles recorded. According to Justin (Producer) release is set for around spring time. Which will work out great for the tour timing. More about the tour: The tour will be in Texas to start and move across the Southern States and hopefully move up the Coast. Probably starting in Austin or San Antonio Texas in May or June. We are working on getting 2 sponsors (to be discussed later) to support the tour. Just keep checking here and more information will be released as it becomes available. Guatemala, an awesome place to visit and to help !

Guatemala was awesome ! Kerri (my better half) and I went down to Guatemala to build a house for a family in need. We were building a home for 2 boys who were abandoned by their mother and father. We figured we would be going there for a life changing experience. We got the experience and more. We had the pleasure of meeting a family who just could not get over the fact that a stranger would travel such a great distance to help them and build a home ! Yet they worked just as hard if not harder then us. I thought I was working hard by carrying 3 cement blocks in a wheel barrel when the grand mother walks by me with 2 blocks on her head and one in her arms. Did I feel like a spoiled white boy ? You bet ! But she never made me feel any less. In the process of helping a family in need, we also found a great Country to explore. Surrounded by Volcanos and incredible green vegetation, Guatemala was an explore's delight. The history, the scenery, and the open hearted people who just wanted to "Get to know you" was food for all the senses. I never heard an unkind word spoken by any one the whole 17 days. Lake Atitilan with it villages of San Pedro, San Domingo, and others. The beaches at Monterico on the Pacific coast were incredible. But the true amazing places to see were Semuc Champey which even though I took photos they never seem to justify what I was seeing. It was Awesome ! beautiful pools of blue water flowing into one another. This hidden gem is a destination that is required when you go to Guatemala. Another amazing place to rest and place your attack on Guatemala is Antigua. This small hidden town has every thing the travel needs, wants and desires. Cobble stone streets, travels every where to compare notes, culture every where you turn, and history around every corner. Antigua can't be beat for a central location to plan trips, get involved in helping out, and great food too. Exchanging notes with travellers at Sky cafe is heightened by watching the incredible sunset from the roof top cafe. So even though we went to Guatemala to build a home which we did we also build friendships and a love for Guatemala that will probably keep bring me back ..... Oh ! And if you are wondering ..... Yes I performed my Country Music to 2 full house nights in Antigua and they love there music !

Awesome Success with new Single

I have to tell you it is amazing and humbling at the same time. My new single is doing incredible. It has been moved from CBC 3 to CBC 1 which is the Main CBC Music Radio station so that means National Air Play. I have to thank every one that was there helping me out. First and foremost my beautiful and loving better half, Kerri, who tolerated my silliness. Also, the people I really have to thank is Justin McDonough of Resonate Recording Studio (www.resonatemusic.ca), who has been a recording genius. He has done things with my music that I never thought could be done. Justin, his beautiful wife Megan, and Mike (business manager) have made me feel right at home in the studio. Resonate Music School and Recording Studio has a bright future with such wonderful people at the helm. I must also thank all the musicians who have come to my rescue which include; the beautiful Colleen-Rae (www.colleen-rae.com) who's vocals have been incredibly appreciated, Smokey Fennell (www.smokinsteel.com) who's Steel guitar and banjo playing was awesome, and Robin Pelletier who's Guitar and Mandolin playing was without flaw, Aaron Pritchett (www.aaron-pritchett.com) for the moral support and also my good friend Adam Gregory (www.adamgregory.com) for being incredibly supportive. And one person I really want to thank for being funny, encouraging, and extremely insightful, Chineng Pong from Edmonton. Any time I was getting down, Chineng was right on cue to pump me up again ! The one THANK YOU that I have to make sure is seen is to the fans who without them, this would all have no point what so ever ! Progress on CD and more

Well the progress on my New CD (A Long Road Travelled) is coming along well. Meeting challenges on a regular basis, mostly financially. I have been working to get bookings but my phobia of calling people is over-powering and a really wall. I have been trying to get booked into the Big Valley Jamboree. Listen to my New Single on CBC 3 Please go take a listen to the new single. I am trying to get as many as possible listeners so that I can get more air play. Hopefully, I can get someone to financially back my CD but we will have to see. On another subject, I have been cast as an extra in a movie with Bill Bob Thornton, who is a Country Artist himself. I am hoping to get some pointers from him on how to get ahead. Post your suggestions.

New single & CD progress

I am still in the studio. We finished 2 songs work on #3 starting April 15. The new single Wandering Around has been sneaked out to CMT and many others and everyone is loving it.

RECORDING STUDIO

I have been in the Recording Studio with Colleen-Rae at Resonate Recording Studios with Recording Engineer, Justin McDonough. We have been having a great time. We have 2 of 10 songs pretty much completed. I am hoping that we will have the CD finished around the end of May for Summer release. Resonate Recording Studios is AWESOME because I feel like I have a comfy home here and the expertise that I need. Justin and his lovely wife Megan are incredibly people. And to all those out there who have been extremely dedicated and patient, I truly thank you for being so. I have also been taking classes on recording and let me tell you it is no easy job what these guys do in the recording studio ! It has been a long time !

Hey Every one it has been a long time since I last posted to my blog. Well here is a little of what you can expect in the future. New CD is being worked currently and hopefully will be released in the New Year ! I recently performed at the Festival of Trees Edmonton and it was an awesome show. Even though it was under circumstances that I would have had to go through. I recently went to New Brunswick for my Mother's funeral and got the opportunity to perform at the Rainbow Club in Barachois, N.B. in front of 200 people who loved my music ! It was awesome and I want to thank every one there including my Family Louise (sister), Valerie, Doloria, Dick, and many others. Standing O's were fantastic !
