Is Country Music still Country Music ?

People that know me understand my beef with today's Country Music. With artist like Keith Urban, Big & Rich, and to many others to mention, it looks like Country might have disappeared. Artist like Alan Jackson are doing their part to keep it alive but I sometimes wonder if that is enough. There is more Rock & Roll in today's Country Music then ever before. Let's face it, did you ever think you would see Bon Jovi singing a Country song? Not in your life.
My theory on this whole problem is simply this. Hip-Hop has push the true Rock & Roll band out of the main stream market therefore they are lsot and looking for somewhere else to market their talents. Country is the Richest and closest thing to Rock & Roll. But what disappoints me is that the Country Music industry has let this happen. Come on have a little back bone here.
Because of this shift or weakness of allowing mainstream Rock & Roll to enter Country, could be the explaination of why so many Live music Venues are closing in Nashville. When I talk to fans, and I mean true Country fans, Nashville is no longer at the tip of their tongues as the home of Country Music. That's right .... Nashville is DEAD (R.I.P.) and the new king is Branson Missouri.
No matter if you are in the USA or in Canada, Branson is the home and Capital of Country Music. That is LIVE Country Music.
If Nashville would have kept it Country, there would have been no furneral !
Let me know what you think .....
